Central Valley Vintage Base Ball participated in Duncans Mills Civil War Days on July 14, teaching the soldiers how to play this "new" game of base ball, with 1864 rules of course.
Players from the organization organized pickup games on the battlefield before and after the 1:00 battle reenactment, bringing along period-accurate bases, balls, and bats. Re-enactors from both the confederate and union camps learned base ball the way it was played by soldiers in the Civil War during their downtime.
The organization wants to thank the California Historical Artillery Society for putting on the event and welcoming us with open arms. CVVBB hopes to be at more Civil War reenactments in the near future.
